DONEGAL BASED DOCTOR HELPS IRISH TEAM INTO QUARTER-FINAL OF THE MEDICAL WORLD CUP

first_imgA Donegal based doctor has played a starring role in helping the Irish Medical team into the quarter-finals of the first ever Medical World Cup.Dr Ronan Cassidy, a GP based in Newtoncunningham Medical Centre has been a pivotal figure for the Irish side. Cassidy who hails from a footballing hotbed in Strabane has helped them record superb victories over Brazil and Germany in the group stages.A 1-1 draw on Tuesday with the Ukraine ensured the Irish Medical team qualified for the quarter-finals of the World Cup.They now face the Czech Republic later today in Long Beach, California.The medics will now be hoping they can keep their finger on the pulse and negotiate their way past the highly fancied Czech Republic side.
