As it usually does every year, ESPN has taken the time to put together a 64-team college football tournament. The Worldwide Leader unveiled its bracket today and also played the tournament down to the Sweet 16. The final results will be published tomorrow. In order to seed the mock event, ESPN used its preseason FPI. That led to some teams being slotted in interesting spots. You can view the full FPI here, but some of the highlights from the bracket are below:The four No. 1 seeds are Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and LSU.Because the FPI isn’t that high on Ohio State right now, the Buckeyes wound up with a No. 4 seed.Texas A&M and Oregon are ahead of OSU and earned No. 3 seeds. The “First Four Out” of the field were Boston College, Wake Forest, Louisville and Army. You can check out ESPN’s full bracket and the results from the first two rounds here.Tomorrow, we’ll see which teams make the Final Four and who wins the hypothetical national championship. We’re probably going to have playoff expansion eventually, but not on this scale, so these types of “what if” scenarios are always fun to look at.last_img
